On warm, sunny days, I was constantly lining the back of the stroller with soft blankets or cloth so my baby's bare skin wasn’t scratched by nylon and polyester stroller fabric. I also tried to attach various parasols and other contraptions to my strollers that shaded my baby’s skin --sometimes – but also blocked my baby’s view and made her cranky because she couldn’t see during our walks; they also poked me in the eye a lot!

These things drove me crazy! So, I solved both of my problems with one design. I made SummerMuff from custom-made certified UPF50 fabric that is treated with minerals to block more than 90% of the sun's harmful UVA/UVB rays. Both the top and bottom layers of the muff are made from organic cotton that allow air to get through to baby’s skin but also block the sun’s harmful rays and keep her cool and soft.

Finally, my baby wasn’t sweaty and itchy -- she could see without trying to peek around sun parasols -- and that made her happy. The fabric that touched her skin protected her from the sun; was soft, cool and natural, and that made me happy!
